Summer at The Ridge. The days are beautiful and sunny!  Everything is lush and green symbolizing growth and change.  With that in mind, we thought it fitting to introduce our newest additions to the community.  For the first time since our beginning, a family of Mallard ducks has taken up residency in the community pond at the entrance to The Ridge at South Mountain.  Mother duck carefully watches over her flock of five and is now teaching them flight skills.  We thought everyone might want to take a “gander” at our newest neighbors...

Ridge Newest Addition

Construction.  As seems to be the case everywhere, new construction has been slow.  But we are looking forward to things picking up in the near future.  Soon another all-brick home will begin taking shape as Rick and Judy Ronzani of Wisconsin come to The Ridge for full-time residency.  We look forward to welcoming this couple who love to garden and hike; they are excited about enjoying the temperate climate of North Carolina and calling The Ridge at South Mountain home.

Lake News.  Fortunately, with the downturn of the economy, our development in western North Carolina has not followed in the footsteps of so many others.  We are grateful that we have maintained careful spending and planning and not hinged the future strength of this community on what may or may not sell.

It is our utmost desire to begin constructing the large recreational lake for all in the community to enjoy; however, our commitment first and foremost is to the individuals who are current owners in The Ridge and maintaining a strong and beautiful community of which those owners are proud to call home.

Although the global economic downturn has lasted for quite some time, we are optimistic about the future of the economy as well as our development.  What made North Carolina attractive to so many has not changed, and we feel that the inevitable upswing in the economy will usher in a new wave of buyers here at The Ridge at South Mountain.  The lake permit we received from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is good for 5 years, and it is renewable.  We look forward to beginning construction of the lake as soon as it is economically feasible.

Plan a Visit.  We welcome a visit of the development and homesites at any time. We are happy and willing to take you on a personal tour of the grounds, show you where the large recreational lake for swimming, boating and fishing will be in the near future, and help you choose a homesite that is fitting for your dream get-away or full-time home.  Please call 800.463.9980 to schedule your visit today!
